Speed camera or counter on I/8?

Hi guys,

A friend of mine (a fellow road enthusiast), just came back from your great country, and noticed these installations on I/8 just north of the D8 terminus near Lovosice.

What are these? He thought their were section controls, but I don't think so, maybe they're just counters. Who can tell?

Hello Chris, you friend is right. These are speed section cameras.

Section speed cams look just same. But those are most probably only counters. I don't know anyone who would get a ticket there.

PS: If you have foreign plates, you should be absolutely ok.

You are probably both right. Back in 2010, foreigners really didn't (or maybe only extremely rarely did) get the tickets from our speed cameras. But a few years ago (I don't recall when exactly), EU states started to share the information about traffic violations and now all EU citizens can get tickets from all EU countries.
