Na US 301 probíhají v délce 24 km stavební a technologické mýtní investice ve výši 636 mil. USD tak, že se tím zlepší spojení s US 1. Tyto plány pocházejí ještě z roku 2005, do realizace vstoupili v 2016 a dokončí se v roce 2019. Vylepší se tak spojení v hraniční linii Delaware a Maryland.

Aktualizoval jsem údaje k tomuto státu. Doplnil jsem počty obyvatel v hlavním a největším městě. Za dobu existence tohoto vlákna jsem si nikdy nenašel více prostoru se tady tomu nějak více věnovat, což mě mrzí.

Rozsah obyvatelstva tohoto státu se od roku 2000 zvětšil o cca. 0,2 mil. aneb o 25%. Skoro všichni žijí v hlavním a pak největším městě.

Rozsah sítě dálnic Interstate je 65 km. Zkapacitněných úseků/tahů je tady více, Interstate prochází křížem přes severní okraj státu, kde taky leží největší metropole.

V tomto státě je na veřejné silniční síti evidováno na skoro 900 mostů, z čeho jen 19 z nich aneb 2% mají tzv. strukturální vadu. Je to zlepšení stavu proti r. 2016, kdy to bylo 43 mostů aneb až 5%. Na Interstate Highway System není takový most ani jeden. Na celé primární síti silnic se nenachází 84% těchto špatných mostů.

Stát Delaware jako jeden z mála vráží peníze do všech mostů, takže jeho mostní program eviduje potřebu opravit 325 mostů s různyma vadama, což je pokles proti roku 2016 o 38 mostů a ani ta potřebná částka není strašidelná, protože vychází někde na 1,3 mld. USD, což je tedy ještě investiční deficit do silničních mostů.

V létě se guvernér podepsal nový rozpočet na finanční rok 2022. Ten bude ve výši 4,7 mld. USD. Kapitálový rozpočet bude největší v historii státu a to až 1,3 mld. USD, což zajistí plnění největšího infrastrukturního plánu v historii státu. Mezi hlavní priority se zařazují i silnice a mosty.

Delaware Started 119 Transportation Projects in Year-One of Infrastructure Law, New Report Shows

WASHINGTON, Nov. 18, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- Delaware leveraged $250.0 million in federal highway and bridge formula funds in FY 2022 to help jumpstart 119 new improvement projects in communities across the state during the first year of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), a review of U.S. Treasury Department data through September 30 shows.

"A key takeaway from the Treasury data is that the bipartisan infrastructure law is working in year-one as intended, with state transportation departments disbursing funds and projects breaking ground," said American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) Chief Economist Dr. Alison Premo Black, who prepared the report.

"The economic and quality of life benefits of the infrastructure law will become even more apparent as funding continues in coming years," adds ARTBA Chair Paula Hammond, a WSP USA senior vice president. "The beneficiaries of these long-term investments will be the American traveling public in their communities."

President Joe Biden signed the IIJA into law Nov. 15, 2021. Nearly 90 percent of IIJA's highway funds are dispersed by existing formula to states, with the remainder distributed through discretionary grant awards and other allocated programs.

Nationally, over 29,000 IIJA projects were launched through the end of September. The five largest projects supported by formula funds in Delaware are:

Construct a Connector Road Between US 113 and SR 24 North of Millsboro - $15.0 million
Grade Separated Intersection Improvements at US 113 in Georgetown - $14.7 million
Improvements, Reconstruction on US 113 South of Georgetown on Arrow Safety Road - $12.9 million
Constructing Turn Lane on Commons Boulevard and Reconstruct Two Bridges on I-676 and I-677 - $12.8 million
Intersection Modifications on Plantation Road - $11.2 million

National Bridge Inventory: Delaware 2020 - 2024

The state has identified needed repairs on 315 bridges.
This compares to 325 bridges that needed work in 2020.
Over the life of the IIJA, Delaware will receive a total of $225.0 million in bridge formula funds, which will help make needed repairs.
Delaware currently has access to $135.0 million of that total, and has committed $65.7 million towards 37 projects as of June 2024.
Of the 872 bridges in the state, 11, or 1.3 percent, are classified as structurally deficient. This means one of the key elements is in poor or worse condition.
This is down from 19 bridges classified as structurally deficient in 2020.
The deck area of structurally deficient bridges accounts for 2.5 percent of total deck area on all structures.

Dne 26.9. se do provozu odevzdal 4 km dlouhý severní obchvat Millsboro a to po dvou letech výstavby.

Dvoupruhový obchvat v hodnotě 140 milionů USD spojuje státní silnice 20 a 24 a zahrnuje novou křižovatku s US Route 113 a mimoúrovňové napojení na státní silnici 30.

Očekává se, že nový obchvat sníží dopravní zácpy ve městě Millsboro.
